The Baker Hughes LATILUBE™ high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) lubricant reduces friction, which causes torque and drag; thereby, improving sliding efficiency and rate of penetration (ROP) in directional and extended-reach wells. Exceptionally versatile, this lubricant can withstand temperatures in excess of 400°F (204.4°C). LATILUBE has been used in geothermal fluids in excess of 500°F (260°C). It is more tolerant to cement and lime treatments than most conventional lubricants.

Features and Benefits
Enhances lubricity and reduces torque and drag without affecting mud properties -Increases drilling efficiency -Decreases nonproductive time -Eases friction associated with running casing -Improves cuttings management, weight-on-bit, and directional control
Stable in high-pH fluid systems, including lime-treated muds -Remains stable in a broad range of water-based muds
Creates little or no foam at high temperatures -Reduces risk of corrosion due to entrained oxygen
Applications
